Bill Monroe, along with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, is credit with developing bluegrass music. While this compilation does not feature some of Monroe's most popular songs, like "Blue Moon of Kentucky", it is sufficient. For more of the two Foggy Mountain Boys, see compilations like this one. Monroe even has an instructional DVD on how to play the mandolin. If bluegrass is an interest, make sure to check out the annual Bill Monroe Memorial Festival at the Music Park in Brown County every year.
