by Monroe Country Public Library . These are the top titles in the list.

These books are some of those nominated in 2004, 2005 and 2006 by the Mystery
Writers of America for the prestigious Edgar Award.
Books to Cuddle-Up With: Quilts, Quilters, and Quilting
Chick Lit
The newest genre in fiction, chick lit is about twenty to thirty year old
women (usually) who want more out of life. A better job, apartment or man,
these novels reflect contemporary life as they view it.
Christian Fiction
These are books in which Christian faith is an important element. The list
includes several genres.
Christy Awards
The Christy Awards were established in 1999 by a group of publishers to recognize
Christian novelists and novels of excellence. “Christy” comes
from the title of a novel by Catherine Marshall-it was later made into a movie.
Many of the authors listed have written many books. To see more of them, use

The television show “Desperate Housewives” has spawned an interest
in fiction that portrays realistic women. These titles were originally part
of a list compiled by the subscribers of the Fiction List mailing list. Books
on the list below show only those titles owned by MCPL.

Fiction books in which domestic violence is a major factor in the plot. Titles
were selected by librarians, readers and professional reviewers.

Librarians
These novels have characters that don’t fit the stereotype when you
hear the word “librarian.” The selections include romance, mystery,
science fiction, short stories and a new genre, “graphic novel.”
A graphic novel is nothing more than a comic book for adults.
