Kino and Juana, a poor couple with a young baby, are struck with bad luck when their son is stung by a scorpion. They discover the most beautiful pearl that appears to be fated to save their lives, as well as their son. The pearl brings about all the hidden emotions and the evil within human beings. Kino kills a man then his house is burned down . He and his family go on the run but are caught kino shoots a man then he accidentally shoots his own son. He and his wife return to their village with nothing but sorrow
