This book is about 2 kids whose father dies in a car accident. A few years later, they move to their old uncles house with their mother. They find a stone amulet in a room upstairs. They hear noises in the basement and their mother investigates with the kids following. She has them wait at the basement door. The kids see her get eaten by a creature. The amulet tells them to find their uncle in the world that exists in his basement. Now the kids have to help their mother.
