Thank you for helping us surpass our goals for the 2012 Campaign for Excellence. Thanks to 346 of you who are truly Friends of the Library, we raised nearly $42,000 to help Monroe County Public Library's collections keep pace with ever expanding information, ideas, and technologies.
Your gifts will allow the library to purchase more downloadable books and music, purchase more bestseller movies and books, fund subscription databases for all in the community to share, purchase materials in other languages, adult and early literacy materials, and digital creativity software. A portion of the funds will grow the Friends' Collections Endowment to increase annual gifts to the library to support the collection. By surpassing our goal, we are able to purchase a portable RFID reader which will make shelf reading, re-shelving, sorting, searching, weeding and inventory much easier and more efficient. This will allow us to more easily look for holds and missing items and find incorrectly shelved items.
The Friends of Monroe County Public Library support the mission, vision, and values of the library. The Friends advocate for Monroe County Public Library and support library collections, services, programs, and staff development.
