Monroe County Public Library offers Interlibrary Loan through resource sharing with cooperating libraries. You may borrow books and get copies of articles from other libraries through the Monroe County Public Library provided that you have a MCPL library card in good standing with less than $10.00 in fines.
We follow the national guidelines for Interlibrary Loan [1] and do not request DVD’s, music CD’s, Books on CD and Computer Software, nor do we request books that have just been published (within six months). Also, we follow the guidelines by asking you, the patron, to use local resources first, especially Indiana University Libraries. All Indiana residents may borrow materials from Indiana University. You may search IUCAT [2], the catalog of IU Libraries, or call the IU Reference Desk at 855-8028.
If the material you want is unavailable locally, we will attempt to obtain it for you. Call our Reference Desk at 349-3228 for more information.
