Community Access Television (CATS) Now Offers Live Coverage of Ellettsville Town Council and Plan Commission Meetings
For Immediate Release
Bloomington, Ind.—Community Access Television Services (CATS) has installed a new transmitter in the Ellettsville Fire Station #7 that allows live coverage of Ellettsville Town Council and Ellettsville Plan Commission meetings on Comcast and Smithville cable systems. Meetings also are streamed live on CATS Civic Webcasts at catstv.net. Before this, CATS could only record Ellettsville government meetings and play them back at a later time.
“After over ten years of coverage and countless requests for live Town Council meetings, the technology has finally become cost effective enough for CATS to provide these meetings live,” said Michael White, CATS general manager. “At CATS, we see live coverage of meetings as an essential component of modern democracy, providing government transparency, as well as connection and involvement for all local citizens.”
Ellettsville Town Council meetings are held in the Fire Department’s Training and Conference Room, 5080 W. State Road 46, at 7 p.m., on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. Meetings can be viewed live on the CATS County Government Channel. Ellettsville Plan Commission meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month and also can be viewed live on the Government Channel.
The CATS County Government Channel is Channel 14 on the Comcast cable system. On the Smithville cable system, it is Channel 302. Unfortunately, CATS channels are not available to AT&T subscribers.
