We are fortunate to have volunteers who contribute their time, talent, and energy to a variety of long-term and short-term commitments. Opportunities range from volunteering in the children’s department, teen spaces, and the Friends of the Library Bookstore to tutoring adult learners, helping with the maintenance of Library collections, assisting with special events, and much more.

Administration

Volunteers provide clerical assistance.

Volunteers in Tutoring Adult Learners (VITAL)

Volunteers provide tutoring for adult reading, writing, math, and English language skills; studying for the high school equivalency and citizenship tests.

Access and Content Services

Volunteers help with our library's collections by withdrawing materials, or doing shelf maintenance projects.

Community Access Television Services (CATS)

Volunteers assist staff with electronic equipment in CATS Master Control and Dub Rooms.

Friends of the Library Bookstore

Volunteers shelve books, work as a cashier, and box books.

House Calls Service

Volunteers select materials and deliver them to the same assigned House Call patron each month.

Children's Services

Volunteers supervise the Learn and Play Space, assist with programs, and help maintain the collection.

Teen Services

Volunteers age 21 or older assist with mentoring teens. Mentor needs are assessed on a case by case basis.

Volunteers assist with special projects as needed.

Garden Volunteer

Volunteers assist maintenance of library gardens and associated garden programming.

Other duties as assigned.

Seed Library

Volunteers assist with seed inventory and maintenance with library gardens.

We also are seeking assistance from lead gardener(s).

Special Events

Volunteers are needed for special events and opportunities that arise throughout the year.

Opportunities may include: Bi-annual book sales, Mailings, General Administration, Recycling, Friends of the Library events, programs, etc.
