history and ruin of Elm Creek Manor form the background of this story. This
is the 1st book in a series of 12 books about Elm Creek Manor and the history

sister when her husband goes off to fight the Rebels in the U.S. Civil War.
Alice tells of the difficulties of living on the farm with her mother-in-law

pacing.

care facility. Maggie Brown and the other members of the quilting bee offer

interesting and the plot twists are fascinating

Bachelor's Puzzle
The women of Maintown, Oregon can hardly wait for the new preacher to come to
town. He is young and unmarried. The mothers and daughters come up with the
idea to make him a welcoming quilt. When Zack Harley arrives, he is like no
preacher they have ever known. Although he preaches very well (memorizing another
minister’s sermons), he seems to be more helpful outside the pulpit then
in. This is the first in the Patchwork Circle Series. The characters in this
novel are heartwarmingly endearing. The author of the novel is a quilter and
this lends to the authenticity of the sewing scenes.

possessions because she feels that it’s all she has. Will the wedding

together? This book has wonderful characters. The multiple story lines keep
the pace moving.
