Tiana's review of Double Identity by Margaret Peterson Haddix

Why did you decide to read this book? Did a friend suggest it? Did it have an interesting cover?
I had read one of the author's earlier books, Running Out Of Time, for school and really liked it, so when I found this one i decided to give it a try.
What is the story about?/What happened in the story?
It's about an average preteen named Bethany who is sent to stay with her aunt while her mother is supposedly being treated for a mental condition that leaves her worried and depressed. The last words Bethany hears from her father before coming into her aunt's house are: "Bethany... doesn't know anything about Elizabeth." But Aunt Myrlie is being really secretive about Elizabeth, whoever she is, and it's not long before Bethany discovers three dark, unsettling secrets about her past- the last two even Myrlie can't protect her from.
Who is your favorite character in the story? Why?
Probably my favorite character is Elizabeth but if I talked about her it would reveal what is kept secret for nearly half the book, so instead I am going to put Bethany. Bethany is an understandable girl who has strong interests and dislikes. She's snarky, spoiled, and smart and is really very funny, even in serious or tragic sections of the book.
Why did you like this story?
or Why did you not like this
story?
I adored this story because it's like sci-fi, fantasy, realistic fiction, mystery, suspense, horror, and even historical fiction all rolled into one.
