Neil's review of Gods of Manhattan by Scott Mebus
Age: 8 Date: February 26, 2011
Why did you decide to read this book? Did a friend suggest it? Did it have an interesting cover? I decided to read this book because I like gods and the cockroach riding the rat on the cover looked interesting.
What is the story about?/What happened in the story? The story is about a boy named Rory who can see a spirit world over lapping Manhattan called Manhatta. Soon everybody wants his power. Rory is pursued by enemies through mazes of the past and present.
Who is your favorite character in the story? Why? My two favorite characters are Hex the magician and Fritz the cockroach who is actually a small human in cockroach armor. I like Fritz because it is strange to see anything riding a rat. I like Hex because he revealed the Manhatta to Rory.
Why did you like this story? or Why did you not like this
story? I like this story because it is fun to read.
Other thoughts or feelings about this story? Anything else to add? I recommend this book to other kids.
