Why did you decide to read this book? Did a friend suggest it? Did it have an interesting cover?:
My friend gave me this book for my birthday and she had said that she hadn't read it but her sisters had and they said it was very good. She also said that she had read the blurb and that it sounded interesting.
What is the story about?/What happened in the story?:
The story is about 4 kids trying to stop a man from using his machine to put messages into peoples minds to make them do what he wants.
Why did you like this story? or Why did you not like this story?:
I like this story because the author makes you feel as if you are actually there. He also makes me feel as if I am friends with the characters.
Other thoughts or feelings about this story? Anything else to add?:
I LOVE this story, but I would not recommend reading it more then once because to me it seems boring since the 1st time Trenton Lee Stewart makes it seem as if you are there, and for me the 2nd time it doesn't have the same effect. I recently tried to read it a second time because I loved it so much, but I couldn't because it seemed boring to reread it. It is just the way I saw it so you might have a different opinion.

Write a review of the book, including plot points, if you wish:
Good science fiction never fails to grasp the reader and hold them tightly until the story is over, and sometimes longer than that. If you are a sci-fi fan, The Mysterious Benedict Society, by Trenton Lee Stewart, won’t disappoint you. It will captivate you immediately with its exciting plot. You won’t be able to put it down, because of Stewart’s cleverly-placed surprises that you will run into throughout the story when you least expect them. Thrilling foreshadowing only adds to the suspense. Every character is unique and interesting. Stewart does an excellent job challenging the characters, and also the reader, with tricky puzzles and riddles. Some sci-fi books are breathtaking when you first read them, but the thrill often ends with the story. In contrast, The Mysterious Benedict Society’s message of children’s importance to the world will not soon be forgotten. This is definitely a book worth reading. I recommend it to everyone, especially older kids and sci-fi fans. If you enjoy The Mysterious Benedict Society, you'll probably like the sequel, The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey.
