In this class, participants will learn how to effectively search for a job using the Internet. We will explore area employer websites such as Indiana University, Ivy Tech, IU Health/Bloomington Hospital, Monroe Hospital, Herald Times, etc. In addition, we will explore some state and national job websites such as Indiana Career Connect, Craigslist, CareerBuilder, Monster, and Indeed. Registrants must have an email account and have basic computer skills.
Lets Animate! Were going to make our own stop-motion cartoons right in the library. With the help of the mad makers of Bloominglabs, we will animate the action right in the library. We will provide the computers, cameras, and a variety of things to animate, but feel free to bring your own action figures, props, or whatever!
In this course participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of HTML (hypertext markup language) that lays the foundation for creating a basic website. Participants will also be shown how to create a free website and blog online without having to know any HTML or coding. Registrants for this class should have basic computer skills or have taken the computer basics class at the library.
This is a chance for the whole family to enjoy a story, a movie and a craft. The story and movie and craft will appeal to a wide range of ages, so bring the whole family. Craft supplies provided by the Friends of the Library.
Tired of using your keyboard? Learn to control the action on a computer using graphite, silverware, or whatever else we can think of. Draw your own control panel and make it real. Play virtual instruments using anything you can grip. There are so many possibilities with MaKey MaKey boards and Scratch software. Please register.
