Description OUT exists to promote the welfare of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) students at Indiana University and support awareness of the GLBT community at large in Bloomington. This is accomplished by providing the following: information and education for the GLBT community; support and referral for GLBT students; involvement in GLBT causes; and our exsistence as a social organization for the GLBT community. In addition to weekly meetings, regular OUT events include such things as Pride Week, Halloween Dance, the Miss Gay IU Pageant, and Hoosier Daddy. OUT also hosts conferences, brings speakers/performers to IU, and many other interesting GLBT activities.

Description Bloomington Beacon is a non-profit incorporated in 1997. It published a GLBT community newspaper from 1997 to 1999. In 2004, Bloomington Beacon launched its Web site, became a Donor Choice Agency with local United Way, and joined the Bloomington Non Profit Alliance and the National Association of LGBT Community Centers. Bloomington Beacon is a membership organization. Its operations are directed by a board and planned and executed by committees.
